ชิคาโก้จัดหนัก ชูป้ายเรียกร้องปล่อยตัวนักศึกษาอย่างไม่มีเงื่อนไข หน้าสถานกงสุลไทย และทั่วเมืองชิคาโก

เมื่อวันที่ 3 กค. กลุ่มคนไทยในชิคาโก้ เข้าร่วมกลุ่มกิจกรรม #FreeThai14 และ #เราคือเพื่อนกัน โดย แจกเอกสารการรณรงค์ต่อสู้ให้ได้มาถึงประชาธิปไตยใหม่ ของกลุ่มนักศึกษา โดยมีการตระเวนทั่วกรุงชิคาโก เพื่อให้ความรู้และขอการสนับสนุนจากนักศึกษา ประชาชนอเมริกันให้กดดันรัฐบาลทหาร ปล่อยตัวนักศึกษา 14 คน อย่างไม่มีเงื่อนไข และคืนอำนาจแก่ประชาชนโดยการจัดให้มีการเลือกตั้งโดยเร็วที่สุด

Timeline of Thai Students Protest the Military Junta that led to their arrests:

· Students were gathered for peaceful protests

· The police started cracking down the protesters leaving three students injured and hospitalized. Students were summoned to hear charges.

· Student activists from the student-led human rights and environment group were detained by the police for their peaceful protest. Some of them were arrested on the next day for drawing paintings with anti-coup messages.

· The 14 students were charged with disturbing social peace and causing social conflict even though they were sitting down silently and watched the clocks ticking in the public places.

· The military did not comply with the act of presuming innocent until proven guilty. The military court decided to jail the students for 12 days before they were going on trial

· The tyrannical military continues their draconian approach by threatening and intimidating the students’ family members. Then, the military threatened them with the charge of guilty by association.

· Almost 300 professors and academics who supported the students had been investigated and conducted the background checks by the police

We DEMAND the THAI Authorities to RELEASE THESE STUDENTS IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT ANY CONDITIONS!
