The thai royals have really a different mindset, how can you be proud, when you know everything is fake. She really acts like she is a genius. Feel sorry for the people who is behind her. Embarrassing to watch.

This event is an insult to real musicians who spend decades practising and studying. The BSO was always a second tier orchestra anyway - even by Thailand’s relatively low standards of classical music - but now, as the ‘R’BSO, it is just another arm of the propaganda department. It’s such a shame that funding of the arts gets channeled into this kind of nonsense instead of supporting the development of real talent. The idea that someone who doesn’t even claim to be a trained musician (well not until recently anyway) could compose a full symphony, a concerto, and various other works is so ludicrous as to be on a par with the urban myth that North Korea once claimed that Kim Jong Un scored a hole-in-one on every single hole on his first ever round of golf. The most ridiculous thing about this is that it wouldn’t have been difficult to promote the princess’s supposed talents without blatantly lying by simply using the phrase ‘under the artistic direction of HRH’ or ‘in collaboration with HRH’. But no, some shameless fools had to go the whole hog and claim that the music was composed in its entirety by her, which is totally impossible to believe.

...It is evident that the palace has not realised its deteriorating position of power. Why did they organise an event like this? This is the Royal Concert to celebrate the 70th anniversary of King Vajiralongkorn. The concert showcased the self-composed songs of Princess Sirivannavari--an attempt to resuscitate obsolete propaganda. There was another attempt--reinventing the princess to be "as genius as" her grandfather, King Bhumibol. She has been extolled as an able jockey, badminton player (on national team), designer, "supermodel", painter, and now music composer and conductor of orchestra. Everybody knows that she is an average girl and those songs were composed by someone else. But what's more important is that this event was organised amid the economic crisis in Thailand, and amid growing call for royal reforms. But this call has continued to fall on deft ears.
