Thailand's political history has been littered with periods of turmoil and uncertainty since the 1930s.

The country's military leaders now say that the new constitution, Thailand's 20th, will pave the way for peace and stability.

Thai voters overwhelmingly approved the military-backed draft constitution on Sunday.

But critics argue the document will just solidify the military's hold on the government.

So, is the referendum about grabbing more power? Or about returning to democracy?

ในทางหนึ่ง คะแนนเสียง 'รับร่าง' วันนี้ ผมเชื่อว่ามีจำนวนไม่น้อยที่ใจต้องการเดินหน้า 'เลือกตั้ง' แต่จำใจรับร่างไปแม้จะไม่ได้เห็นด้วย

ถ้าเอาคะแนนส่วนนี้รวมกับฝ่าย 'ไม่รับ' ที่ค่อนข้างชัดเจนว่าต้องการ 'เลือกตั้ง' เช่นกัน ก็เท่ากับว่าคะแนนเสียงส่วนใหญ่วันนี้ คือ การตัดสินใจเดินหน้าออกไปจากสภาพที่เป็นอยู่ปัจจุบัน

คำถามคือ ฝ่ายประชาธิปไตย จะร่วมกันเดินต่อไปอย่างไร ?
