1 March 2016: DEAR COLLEAGUES
Centre for Southeast Asian Studies at Kyoto University proudly presents the new issue (19) of Kyoto review (March 2016) which focuses Buddhism in Southeast Asia. We have five articles by Yoko Hayami and Tatsuki Kataoka; Jack Meng-Tat Chia; Jordan Baskerville; Alicia Turner, and; Erick White--all are translated into Japanese, Thai and Bahasa Indonesian. We are delighted to have Justin McDaniel(University of Pennsylvania) as guest editor. This issue, as usual, also includes a section of book reviews, and a column--Young Academic's Voice (YAV), as a platform for young researchers to voice their opinions on all things Southeast Asia, with one article per month. As for this month's YAV, we present Huong Le Thu, a researcher at the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, Singapore who has written on a topic, "Vietnam's Urban Middle Class: Rapidly Growing, Slowly Awakening.
