Time magazine honors Myanmar women

Two Myanmar anti-regime activists, Esther Ze Naw Bamvo and Ei Thinzar Maung, and innovator Mi Mi Aung were honored as influential figures in Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2021 on Wednesday.
Esther is a leader of Kachin Peace Network and Ei Thinzar Maung is an activist-cum-politician who is the youngest deputy minister in the parallel National Unity Government. Both activists were among the first anti-coup protesters to take to the streets in Yangon on Feb. 5 and to speak up for minority rights.
Mi Mi Aung is a Burmese-American scientist who led the team that created the Ingenuity helicopter, which became the first aircraft to fly on Mars in April.
