Pope Leo XIV says control of artificial intelligence must not remain in the hands “of a few” while warning that technology is fueling world conflicts, setting out his proposals in the first major theological document of his pontificate.
These include protecting the distinctive “grandeur of humanity” amid rapidly changing technology and for the use of AI in warfare to be subject to “the most rigorous ethical constraints.”

ประเด็นสำคัญที่สมเด็จพระสันตะปาปาทรงเน้นย้ำ มีดังนี้:
1. วิกฤตแรงงานและการลดทอนคุณค่าความเป็นมนุษย์
- ทรงวิพากษ์วิจารณ์กลุ่มทุนที่เน้นผลกำไรและการขับเคลื่อนด้วยข้อมูล (Data-driven) จนมองข้ามมิติด้านจริยธรรมและจิตวิญญาณ
- ทรงเตือนว่าการใช้ AI ทดแทนแรงงานมนุษย์ในวงกว้างเพื่อลดต้นทุนจะนำไปสู่ "ภัยพิบัติทางสังคม" (Social Calamity) สร้างปัญหาความยากจน ความเหลื่อมล้ำ และการกีดกันผู้คนออกจากสังคม โดยทรงย้ำว่าระบบเศรษฐกิจต้องอยู่ภายใต้ศักดิ์ศรีความเป็นมนุษย์ ไม่ใช่ความเปรียบจำเพาะเรื่องประสิทธิภาพทางการผลิต
2. การผูกขาดอำนาจและ "หอคอยบาเบลแห่งยุคใหม่"
- ทรงเปรียบเทียบการวิ่งกวดทางเทคโนโลยีที่ไร้การควบคุมว่าเป็นเหมือน "หอคอยบาเบลแห่งยุคใหม่" ที่มนุษย์พยายามควบคุมทุกสิ่งด้วยข้อมูลแต่ขาดคุณธรรม
- ทรงแสดงความกังวลเรื่องการรวมศูนย์ของข้อมูลและอำนาจ AI ที่ตกอยู่ในมือของบรรษัทเทคโนโลยียักษ์ใหญ่เพียงไม่กี่ราย ซึ่งอาจนำไปสู่การแทรกแซง สอดส่อง และจำกัดเสรีภาพของประชาชน
- ในบทที่รุนแรงที่สุด ทรงประณามการใช้ AI ในเทคโนโลยีการทหารและการโจมตีระยะไกล โดยระบุว่า AI กำลังทำให้สังคมชินชาต่อความสูญเสียของสงคราม (Normalization of War)

- ทรงเรียกร้องให้รัฐบาลทั่วโลกเข้ามามีบทบาทอย่างจริงจังในการ "ควบคุมและออกกฎหมายกำกับดูแล AI" อย่างเข้มงวด ไม่ใช่ปล่อยให้เป็นเรื่องของจริยธรรมแบบลอยๆ ที่บริษัทเทคโนโลยีเป็นผู้กำหนดเอง
- ทรงกระตุ้นให้ผู้พัฒนาเทคโนโลยีและผู้นำทางการเมือง "ชะลอความเร็วลง" เพื่อทบทวนและสะท้อนคิดถึงผลกระทบ เพื่อให้มั่นใจว่าเทคโนโลยีจะถูกสร้างขึ้นมาเพื่อรับใช้มนุษย์ ไม่ใช่เข้าครอบงำมนุษย์
