SKYTRAX to remove AirAsia from World's Best Low-Cost Airlines candidate list

ถึงคนไทยทุกคนที่ตามข่าวแอร์ถูกบังคับให้กราบทุกคน
จากเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าว เราได้เห็นมุมมองของนายธรรศพลฐ์ แบเลเว็ลด์ ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารสายการบินไทยแอร์เอเชีย ตามลิงค์ ข่าวจากเดลินิวส์ ซึ่งขัดต่อมุมมองของสาธารณะชนหลายประการได้แก่
1. ไม่ได้มองพนักงานคนดังกล่าวเป็นผู้เสียหาย แต่กลับมองว่าเป็นผู้กระทำผิดที่บริษัทตัดสินใจไม่ลงโทษ
2. ให้ข้อมูลว่าพนักงานคนดังกล่าวได้กราบเพียงหนึ่งครั้งซึ่งขัดแย้งกับหลักฐานที่คู่กรณีได้มีการสนทนาผ่านช่องทาง Social Network กับเพื่อน และขัดแย้งกับจักษุพยานในที่เกิดเหตุที่นำรายละเอียดออกมาเผยแพร่ ทำให้สงสัยได้ว่ามีความพยายามจะบิดเบือนเรื่องราวเพื่อบรรเทากระแส มิได้พยายามค้นหาความจริงเพื่อแก้ไขที่ต้นเหตุแต่ประการใด
3. มีการใช้คำว่า "เป็นการกราบขออภัยกันตามปกติ" ซึ่งเป็นบริบทที่ขัดกับขนบธรรมเนียมไทย เนื่องจากการกราบนั้นจะกระทำต่อ บิดา มารดา และพระภิกษุ เป็นหลัก มิใช่กระทำกับลูกค้าหรือผู้โดยสาร เนื่องจากการกราบนั้นเป็นการให้ความเคารพสูงสุด เสมือนหนึ่งให้พนักงานคนดังกล่าวเคารพผู้โดยสารประหนึ่งบิดา มารดาอันเป็นการทำร้ายจิตใจของพนักงานคนดังกล่าวอย่างรุนแรง
การใช้คำว่า "เป็นการกราบขออภัยกันตามปกติ" จึงเป็นการแสดงออกถึงการไม่ใส่ใจปัญหาและความรู้สึกของพนักงานคนดังกล่าว
นอกจากนี้ แม้ทางบริษัทแอร์เอเชีย โดยคุณ Tony Fernandez ได้ทำการขอโทษด้วยตนเอง แต่ก็ยังไม่ได้มีแนวทางลงโทษหรือลงทัณฑ์บนต่อพนักงาน หรือผู้บริหารที่สนับสนุนให้เหตุการณ์ดังกล่าวเกิดขึ้น
รวมถึงยังไม่มีมาตรการใดๆกับคู่กรณี เป็นการสร้างความกังวลต่อผู้ใช้บริการท่านอื่น เนื่องจากคู่กรณีไม่แจ้งข้อมูลสำคัญเรื่องสุขภาพของผู้ใต้ความดูแล อาจนำมาซึ่งปัญหาความปลอดภัย และจากรณีนี้อาจทำให้พนักงานต้อนรับบนเครื่องไม่กล้าเข้าไปทักท้วงหรือซักถามเพราะเกรงเหตุการณ์เช่นนี้จะซ้ำรอย และลงเอยด้วยการถูกมองเป็นผู้กระทำผิดจากผู้บริหารสายการบิน จนอาจเป็นสาเหตุให้กระทบกับความปลอดภัยในการเดินทางได้
ด้วยปัจจัยทั้งปวง เราเห็นพ้องกันว่า สายการบิน AirAsia ในฐานะสายการบินราคาประหยัดที่ดีที่สุดในโลก 8 ปีซ้อน จาก SKYTRAX ไม่สมควรได้เข้ารับเลือกในการคัดเลือกการบินราคาประหยัดที่ดีที่สุดในโลกในปีถัดไป
ในนามของผู้ใช้บริการสายการบิน เราร่วมลงชื่อเรียกร้องให้ SKYTRAX ถอดชื่อสายการบิน AirAsia ออกจากรายชื่อบริษัทที่จะได้รับรางวัล The World's Best Low-Cost Airlines ในปีถัดไป เนื่องจากแนวทางปฏิบัติของบริษัทสร้างความกังวลเรื่อความปลอดภัยและการปฏิบัติต่อพนักงานโดยละเมิดเสรีภาพพื้นฐาน ซึ่งเรามองว่ามีความสำคัญกว่าความสะอาด การบินตรงเวลาหรือจำนวนเที่ยวบินให้บริการ
โดยตั้งเป้าคนลงชื่อไว้ที่ 39,500 ซึ่งคิดเป็น 100 เท่าของผู้รีวิวสายการบิน AirAsia ในเวป SKYTRAX
ทั้งนี้ ขอให้ผู้เข้าร่วมทุกท่าน ช่วยลง #SkytraxBanAA เวลาใช้ Social Network ต่างๆเพื่อเป็นการแสดงกระแสต่อต้านการตอบสนองต่อเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าวของนายธรรศพลฐ์ แบเลเว็ลด์ ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารสายการบินไทยแอร์เอเชีย

To everyone following the dehumanizing treatment of Thai Air Asia’s Flight Attendant
The event has enlightened all of us on the values of Mr. Tassapon Bijleveld, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Air Asia (please see Ryn J.’s tweet explaining the situation as the reports in English have already been taken off from Khaosod English’s website and Bangkok Post's website, the only English news not reporting from a PR brief) .
His values, actions, and statements are a strong contradiction to the public’s view; especially in the following issues.
1. Mr.Bijleveld failed to recognize the Flight Attendant as a victim but addressed her as an employee the company decided to not punish.
2. In his statement, he allegedly claimed there had been only 1 kowtow from the Flight Attendant when in fact the Passenger has already admitted to forcing the Flight Attendant to bow on all fours for 3 times, the last time in tears. This is in line with other witnesses who raised the case to society. We are questioning if this statement is just another PR tool to silence the outrage with no intention to get to solve the problem.
3. The statement described the Flight Attendant’s coercion as “a typical apologizing gesture” which is NOT valid in Thai culture. The only time a Thai person would willingly kowtow is when they are paying their deepest respects to their parents or religious bodies. In the past, it has also been the norm for slaves as a submissive indication to their masters. Thai Air Asia’s managers have bullied the Flight Attendant to satisfy the Passenger’s degrading requests. With this selection of words, it can clearly be implied of Mr.Bijleveld’s nonchalant approach in correcting this situation and disinterest of the Flight Attendant’s feelings.
Thai Air Asia has let Mr.Tony Fernandez apologize on his behalf without any punishment of the high-level employees who accommodated such humiliation. There also been no action taken on the Passenger herself. All of this makes us, passengers of Thai Air Asia, very concerned on our safety on FD flights. The way Thai Air Asia handled the situation is a precedent case which demotivates their cabin crew in managing the flight. It basically jeopardizes the remaining passengers’ safety as the cabin crew would avoid dealing with passengers who have personal issues.
Considering the abovementioned issues, we have a mutual point of view that Air Asia should not be included in SKYTRAX’s candidate list for World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for the upcoming nomination. Air Asia’s vision and management approach have caused a deep concern on the airline’s overall safety, precautionary actions, and violation of their staff’s human rights which should be more important than cleanliness, on-time flights, or number of flights offered.
We are targeting 39,500 names or 100 times of Air Asia’s SKYTRAX review. We would like to ask for the petition signers to use the hashtag #SkytraxBanAA in Social Media activities in reaction to Mr.Bijleveld’s statement.

We hope the international community would also highlight this event as mainstream media in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore are not covering it.
