1 million. I could not imagine that a mere spoof of the junta's anthem, and not even the first one at that, would get this number of views in a day!

Right now my Facebook has more notifications than I could even read if I was doing it full time. I got over 1,000 friend requests (perhaps several thousands but Facebook stops counting after 1,000), which I cannot all accept because of the friend limit, and also because I have no systemic way to know who's in with bad intentions.

While the overwhelming majority of the shares are enthusiastic, a significant minority of them are angry at the video, and willing to share their discontent. I also got a few insults in private messages. This is not a big surprise, as my video was a one-sided tease, and won't work with everybody's sense of humor.

It is not the first video of this kind that I post, but I guess that those with a reach of 10,000 don't hit the haters. Those with a reach of a million do.

Much of the criticism I got revolve around "why are you hating on a country that is not even yours," "love it or leave it," "if you are a guest in a country, stay in your place." So let me post the obvious here for the record: 1/ criticizing a government and a regime does not equate to hating a country. I love Thailand, I just don't love dictators and military coups. 2/ I know my place in formal setups, at work or in public venues. But my personal Facebook page is, indeed, my own place, where I post my own musings. If you don't like what I post, nobody forces you to subscribe. I am not shoving it onto your face.

This having been said, thanks to everybody who liked and shared the video. It went way farther than I thought, but oh well... now I have to own it. Cheers!
