Several people have been asking me if Pavin Chachavalpongpun is safe, because he has not posted anything on social media for several days.

I’m not the best person to ask, because Pavin has refused to talk to me for more than two years and has blocked me on social media.

I criticised something he did back in 2017 and he cut off all contact after that. Like the junta, he doesn’t deal with criticism very well.

I don’t agree with Pavin’s regular attacks on the Future Forward Party, and frankly I find his narcissism tedious. He spends most of his time attacking people fighting for democracy in Thailand, instead of fighting the junta. I’m really disappointed by Pavin, most recently by his failure to help #SaveFaiyen.

But I have checked, and can report that there is no need to worry. Pavin is safe. He sometimes takes a break from social media for personal reasons. This is one of those times. He’s fine.
