Following my discussion with the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, and taking into account the ongoing tensions along the Cambodia–Thailand border, I have held separate telephone conversations with the Prime Minister of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul, and the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Manet.

In those discussions, I expressed Malaysia's serious concerns and urged both parties to halt all forms of hostilities, and to refrain from any further military actions, including the use of force or the forward deployment of armed forces to the front lines, effective from 10:00 PM, 13 December 2025 (UTC+7).
To support efforts to de-escalate tensions and enhance transparency, Malaysia has requested the deployment of the ASEAN Observer Team (ASEAN Observer Team – AOT), led by the Chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces, to monitor the situation on the ground. This mission will also be supported by satellite monitoring provided by the United States Government, commencing at the same time.

The findings from this field and satellite monitoring will be compiled by the AOT and presented at the scheduled ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting on Tuesday, 16 December. The report will provide an objective overview of the current situation, including the positions of both parties, in the interest of accountability, confidence-building, and the maintenance of peace and regional stability.

Malaysia remains focused on working closely with ASEAN partners and the international community to ensure that dialogue, restraint, and diplomacy continue to be the primary foundation. // Following my discussion with US President Donald J.
