#Cambodians in #phnompenh gather to walk for peace. The march drawing thousands will stretch for about 3km as I’m told from the Phnom Penh night market to the Independence Monument. Some roads have been closed off for this event which I'm told has no main organizer. The people just mobilized themselves to take time out from work and school to call for an end to the #Thailand-Cambodia conflict which has gone on for more than 10 days now since Dec 8. So far, peace mediation by the #US and #Malaysia hasn't worked. Both Thailand and Cambodia have suffered fatalities and mass disagreements during the course of this conflict. More than half a million have been displaced in both countries. On the Cambodia border alone, the number of displaced is inching up to hit almost half million.
