The Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (IPAWS) is FEMA's national system for local alerting that provides authenticated emergency and life-saving information to the public through mobile phones using Wireless Emergency Alerts, to radio and television via the Emergency Alert System, and on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Weather Radio.

ปัญหาของการแจ้งเตือนภัยพิบัติแบบไทยๆ
1. แจ้งรวมๆ กวาดไปทั้งจังหวัด ทั้งอำเภอ แล้วจะรู้ไหมว่าจุดไหนเสี่ยงจริง จุดไหนปลอดภัย จุดไหนไปได้ไปไม่ได้ บอกพิกัด เขตแผนที่ มาเลย ให้ชัดๆ ได้ไหม ไม่ใช่แค่ “พื้นที่ใกล้ภูเขา พื้นที่ริมแม่น้ำ” เห้ย
2. แจ้งให้ยกของขึ้นที่สูง เอ้า แล้วให้ยกสูงเท่าไร ระดับน้ำจะขึ้นประมาณไหน จะรู้มั้ยว่ายกสูงพอรึเปล่า ระดับคาดคะเนเอาเองมันก็ไม่เท่ารัฐที่มีข้อมูลr
3. แจ้งให้อพยพ ออกจากที่บ้าน แล้วจะให้ไปอยู่ที่ไหน มีอะไรเตรียมไว้รอ ให้เอาอะไรไปได้บ้าง บอกมาด้วยหน่อยสิ
4. แจ้งอันตราย แต่ไม่มีการคาดการณ์ว่าภัยนั้นจะสิ้นสุดเมื่อไร ทั้งที่สามารถคาดได้ พอเตือนแบบไม่มีจุดสิ้นสุด ชาวบ้านก็ไม่อยากออกมา
5. แจ้งแล้วไม่มีมาตรการบังคับ ชาวบ้านหัวดื้อก็มีเยอะ ออกมาไม่ทัน ไม่อยากออก ไม่อยากทำ at their own risk สุดท้ายเดือดร้อนกู้ภัยไปช่วย แล้วโซเชียลก็คอยด่าอีก
