Acting PM Phumtham Wechayachai said today the government is ready to procure razor wires after the army publicly post a call for the public to donate the item for then to use along Thai-Cambodian border.
This is intriguing.
1) Do the army and the Pheu Thai government have poor coordination?
2) Is the Pheu Thai government being sabotaged by the Thai army?
3) Or is the military communicating directly with the public now, bypassing the government, to build its own popularity? This could be a way for the military to distance itself from the Shinawatra family's political party, which some Thais distrust due to its relationship with the Hun family over three decades. This would also help the military avoid being seen as an ally of the Hun family, an accusation often leveled against the Shinawatra family and the Pheu Thai government, especially since the Pheu Thai government's image and credibility may have become a liability in this Thai-Cambodian conflict.
