It is about the following: In (certain areas of) Germany, you have to pay taxes for secondary homes. It looks like the city of Tutzing did not send out the tax bills for Rama X's villa for the last few years. But now they were looking into that and will send them out until the end of 2022. The city did not give any information (confidelity) why they were not sent out. We are talking about estimated 250.000€ for 4 years. The TV team tried to contact the king in several ways but no reply. In Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GAP) (Hotel Sonnenbichel), the chocolate shop owner complained that the sultan of Oman and his staff spend a lot of money in town during their stay, but with the Thai king there is no business. Nothing else about GAP. The next 5 min are about the dangerous situation of Thais critizising Rama X in Thailand. At the end of the video, they say that the new German foreign minister Baerbock said that there is no evidence that Rama X rules his country from Germany. His stay in Germany is of private nature. Also she rejected an interview about this topic.

Somsak Jeamteerasakul I recently discovered that there is a strange loophole in German tax law that staying in a hotel removes your eligibility for tax. So this is probably why he has always stayed in hotels, first the Kempinski/Hilton at the airport, and then the Sonnenbichl. His use of hotels is mainly to evade tax.

Andrew MacGregor Marshall what real world reasons would he not wish to pay tax - it’s not like he can’t afford it

Tony Stokes The Thai royals just hate the idea of paying tax to anyone, even though they can afford it
Saeki Kenichiro Rangsoy
Andrew MacGregor Marshall perhaps he trusts the hotel would not disclose any info. about his stay, and evading taxes is a plus, to show no trace of his stay oversea
