โจนาธานเฮดบอก ไม่เคยเห็น ผบ.ทบ.คนไหน แสดงท่าทีเป็นศัตรูกับพรรคการเมืองขนาดนี้
Thailand's mercurial army commander General Apirat Kongsompong outlined an extraordinary vision of his country today, harking back to the loss of territory in previous ages, the communist insurgency of the Cold War, centering the heroic role of the military, and it's partnership with the monarchy, at the core of the nation's well-being, and accusing today's critics of the military, in particular the hugely popular Future Forward party, of being modern-day insurgents who threaten to drag Thailand down into chaos. This was a highly-charged presentation, ultra-nationalist, tearful at times, a view of Thailand many younger people here simply won't recognise. As one of the most powerful army commanders of modern times, with a close bond to King Vajiralongkorn, General Apirat's thoughts matter. They are likely to become actions. I don't ever recall hearing an army commander declare open hostility to one of the largest and most dynamic parties in parliament. All the journalists at this presentation came out a bit stunned, and trying to make sense of it. Yet General Apirat was all smiles afterwards, saying he had never made a speech like it before, and that it had come from the heart.
