Surprise victory for pro-European candidate Nicusor Dan in tense Romania presidential vote rerun

In a surprise turnaround, pro-European candidate Nicusor Dan won the Romanian presidential election on Sunday with over 54% of the vote. His nationalist opponent George Simion, who came first in the first round denounced fraud. Turnout rose sharply in the second round.
