จดหมายเปิดผนึกฉบับที่ 2 ถึงเพื่อนนักกฎหมายและผู้รักความเป็นธรรมทั่วโลก

จวนจะครบ 2 ปี ที่ผมต้องอยู่ในเรือนจำแห่งนี้ และเมื่อรวมกับที่ต้องเข้าๆออกๆ ตั้งแต่มีการชุมนุมเรียกร้องให้มีการปฏิรูปสถาบันกษัตริย์ ก็น่าจะเป็นเวลา 3 ปี เป็น 3 ปีที่เหตุผลและข้อเสนอของพวกเรามีความหนักแน่นมากขึ้น เป็น 3 ปี ที่ย่างเข้าปีที่ 4 และอีกหลายๆปี ตามแต่ผู้มีอำนาจจะยัดเยียดให้ อันเป็นผลจากการพูดความจริง

วันนี้ผมถูกตัดสินเพิ่มโทษจากเดิม 22 ปี เป็น 24 ปี และกำลังจะตัดสินในเกือบทุกๆเดือนต่อจากนี้ จนกว่าผมจะยอมพูดว่า 2 + 2 = 5
.
กระบวนการยุติธรรมสำหรับมาตรา 112 ของประเทศนี้ ได้ล้มละลายลงอย่างสิ้นเชิง การกล่าวหา จากคนในสังคมเก่า เพื่อปิดปากมิให้พูดความจริง ถูกสอดรับด้วยคำพิพากษาและกระบวนพิจารณาที่ไม่เป็นธรรม การตัดสิทธิในการประกันตัว การตัดพยานหลักฐานของจำเลย การรับฟังพยานโจทก์ที่เป็นพวกอนุรักษ์นิยมสุดโต่ง ยังคงดำเนินไปอย่างต่อเนื่อง จากปรากฎการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้น กำลังสะท้อนความป่วยไข้ของบ้านเมือง และความระส่ำระส่ายของสังคมเก่า ที่ถูกตั้งคำถามอย่างแหลมคมจากเยาวชนคนรุ่นใหม่ การปิดปาก การคุกคาม ทั้งโดยกฎหมายและนอกกฎหมาย ถูกนำมาใช้ในห้วงเวลานี้

ผมหวังว่า การต่อสู้ของผมและการถูกกระทำด้วยความอยุติธรรมทั้งหมดจะทำให้สังคมได้สติและมองเห็นปัญหาร่วมกัน หันหน้าเข้าพูดคุยอย่างมีอารยะ มีวุฒิภาวะโดยเร็ว

ในทุกๆวัน ทุกเดือน ทุกปี ที่ตัวผมถูกจองจำและในทุกๆตัวเลขของโทษที่เพิ่มขึ้น มันหมายถึงอิสรภาพและชีวิตที่ถูกพรากไป ได้โปรดอย่ามองมันด้วยความเวทนา แต่ให้มองและใช้มันเป็นพลังเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการต่อสู้เพื่อการเปลี่ยนแปลง ผมจะดีใจและเป็นเกียรติยิ่ง หากชีวิตและอิสรภาพที่เสียไปนี้ เป็นประโยชน์ในการต่อสู้ของยุคสมัย

ผมยังยืนอยู่ที่นี่ที่เดิม เพื่อเรียกร้องให้มีการปฏิรูปสถาบันกษัตริย์ให้สอดคล้องกับระบอบประชาธิปไตย ไม่มากไม่น้อยไปกว่านี้

Open Letter No. 2
To Fellow Jurists and Those Who Love Justice Around the World:
I have been in this prison for nearly 2 years. Combined with when I was in and out of prison once the demonstrations calling for the reform of the institution of the monarchy began, it is likely 3 years in prison. My reasons and proposals have become ever firmer during these 3 years. The third year behind bars will soon become the fourth, and perhaps become many more depending on how much those who hold power will heap upon me. This is the result of speaking the truth.
Today I was sentenced, and my punishment increased from 22 years to 24 years imprisonment. From now on, I will face a judgment nearly every month, until I assent to say 2 + 2 = 5 The judicial process for Article 112 in this country is completely broken.
The accusations from people in the old society in order to silence and prevent the truth from being spoken are then supported by unjust trials and judgments. The denial of the right to bail, the refusal of defense evidence, and the wholehearted reception of the ultraconservative witnesses for the prosecution are likely to continue.
These phenomena reflect the illness of the country and the vulnerability of the old society that is facing questions from the youth of the new generation. Legal and extrajudicial means are being used to silence and threaten those who raise questions.
I hope that my struggle and the entirety of the injustice piled upon me will awaken the society to consciousness. I hope that those in the society will see this as a collective problem and then swiftly turn to face one another and discuss it in a civilized and mature fashion.
Every day, every month, and every year that I am locked up – and every time my punishment ticks upwards – is the taking away of my freedom and life. Please do not view this with pity or offer your sympathy. Instead, take this as a form of power in the struggle for transformation. If my life and freedom, the life and freedom I have lost, are of use in this struggle of our age, I will be happy and greatly honored.
My stance remains unchanged. I continue to call for reform of the institution of the monarchy to be in line with democracy. Nothing more and nothing less.
