The title of the backgound music is "임을 위한 행진곡(Imeul wihan Haengjingog)", of which meaning is "March for the beloved". The music was composed and dedicated to a couple who were killed by the rebel troops during Gwangju Democratic Movement in the year of 1980.
On the anniversary of the 18 May 1980 uprising in Gwangju, here is song which became its unofficial anthem. It was written in 1982 by Kim Jong-ryul for his friends, a couple who were murdered in the uprising. The title is 임을 위한 행진곡 or “March for the beloved”, sometimes translated as “March for the Forerunners”.
The ‘March of the Beloved’ the song in memory of the Gwangju's uprising!
“Leaving behind neither love, glory, nor our names,
We vow to march together for the rest of our lives.
Comrades can’t be found, but our banner still flutters.
Let us not falter ‘til the new day comes.
Time passes, but the mountains and streams remember
The ardent cry of those awakened
‘I will march ahead, so follow me, you that live’
‘I will march ahead, so follow me, you that live’”
